Studio+ Completes Architecture and Interior Design Renovation of NCH Baker Hospital’s Critical Care Unit

Studio+, an integrated services design firm, has completed the architecture and interior design for NCH Baker Hospital’s renovated Critical Care Unit. The new space will accommodate 22 new critical care beds as well as support areas for staff.

The design of the 18,650+ Critical Care Unit enhances the patient experience and provides the best possible healing environment. Oversized patient rooms provide a family zone to accommodate overnight stays. A common family center provides a space to recharge and serves as an overflow for large family members and friends.

Additionally, the warm neutral color palette, along with artwork derived from nature, creates a healing environment that helps reduce anxiety associated with critical care.

“NCH is pleased with the design of the new adult Critical Care Unit in our Baker Downtown Hospital which incorporates large rooms to accommodate the sophisticated medical equipment needed for our Critical Care patients,” said Phil Dutcher, Interim President & CEO, NCH Healthcare System.
