Carlos Marcet

AIA, ACHA, LEED AP Senior Healthcare Architect

I was born in Cuba and immigrated to Florida with my family as a young boy. I grew up on the shores of the Indian River Lagoon in East Central Florida, and witnessed nearly all the launches of Saturn V and the Space Shuttle programs from the Kennedy Space Center. After graduating high school, I attended and graduated the University of Florida with degrees in architecture.

Since the beginning of my career, my passion has been focused on planning and designing healthcare facilities. I now have over three decades of working with national healthcare design firms on a broad spectrum of projects.

My daily work is mindful of sustainable, evidence-based design and lean operations, and I always seek to understand the perspective of the people ultimately using the spaces.

When I’m not at work, I spend time with my family on the water, either on the beach or fishing. I am married to my sweetheart Maite Marcet, who is also educated and trained as an architect. We’re raising our two children Lucas, 13, and Elsa, 10. I also have two older children, Sebastian, who is a chef, and Christopher, who is a computer animator. I also have a granddaughter, Sarah Ann.
