Hope Hospice & Community Services of Lehigh Acres

Incorporating local cultural vernacular into the design of palliative campuses promotes patient comfort.

An Old Florida Sanctuary for Palliative Care

Both exterior and interior design elements incorporates elements of the surrounding Florida landscape and culture. Deep roof overhangs and front porches call back to an older, simpler time. Native landscaping provides a familiar view from expansive windows.

An Environmentally Sustainable Haven

In addition to the Old Florida design elements, the facility was designed from the ground up to earn a LEED-NC 2.2 Silver certification. Reflective metal shields the building from unnecessary heat delivered by the sun, while large amounts of natural light enable less use of artificial lighting indoors.

A Hub for End of Life Care

Hospice care is tremendously difficult on patients, family, and staff. The Plantation feel of the facility is intended to provide reflections of home, and gardens surrounding the facility serve as spaces to reflect on life.
