Converting Med-Surgical space to Behavioral Health Units without disrupting operations.

The Focus is On Existing Space and Maximizing Efficiency

Two preexisting units were the focus on the conversion. Both units were utilized as general med-surg beds, so the design eliminated the partition between two units to create one large department.

Interior Design with a Focus on BHU and Safety

The expanded second floor was updated to meet behavioral health standards, including anti-ligature hardware and secured artwork. The goal was to ensure a safe place for all patients while providing design features that are comforting in this setting.
