NCH Northeast Freestanding ED
The first of its kind in the region, the Northeast Freestanding ED acts as a conduit between multiple major hospitals in a developing area.
A Focus on Speed to Market
The Northeast Naples region lacked a major medical hub for emergency medical conditions. NCH, determined to meet the immediate needs of the community, commissioned an outpatient Freestanding Emergency Department to be designed and built.
A Gateway to the NCH Healthcare System
The FSED is well-networked to existing NCH Healthcare Hospitals. When a patient arrives at the FSED, the design of the facility promotes instantaneous interaction with medical staff to provide fast-track care. When the patient is able, and if necessary, the patient is then transported to an inpatient facility elsewhere.
A Workflow Tailored for the End User
A Lean Design process identified and invited end users who would ultimately use the completed facility, and based many design decisions on the actual physical and mental needs of staff, patients, and other potential visitors.
