HCA Osceola Regional BHU
Extensive renovations and additions unify a rural medical center’s continuum of behavioral health services.
A Dedicated Behavioral Health Intake
To accommodate a growing need for extensive behavioral health infrastructure, the emergency department intake was redesigned to prioritize the admission of behavioral crises through a 3,000 square foot highly secured environment.
Seamless Transition Between Intake and Care
A new 13,000 square foot unit replaced the existing services provided on the 4th floor of the hospital. Existing patient rooms on the north and west wing were retrofitted in order to adapt to the new care model, while other rooms were demolished and rebuilt to complete the floor.
A Facility for Essential Acute Behavioral Care
The choice of furniture and finishes intentionally promote patient serenity, while the spaces are designed for the particular needs of the anticipated patient. Anti-ligature elements, soft seating, and open air environments prevent self-harm and promote safe monitoring of patients.
