Tampa Community Hospital Inpatient BHU Renovation
Relocation of existing departments allowed for increased efficiencies and improved patient care.
Smooth Design and Construction Phasing Allowed Undisrupted Care
This project consisted of reworking existing departments in the hospital while maintaining high-quality patient care. The ARU was moved to the third floor, the Skilled Nursing Unit was downsized, and some of the ARU space was converted to BHU. The existing PTAC unit was kept in place, but finishes were improved to blend aesthetics. Phasing went from wing to wing, and patients were able to be isolated to certain wings to avoid any renovation noise and disruption.
Design Inspiration from Across the World
The interior design theme for the adult BHU is a Japanese Garden, which included a comforting color palette with pastels and natural textures and imagery from nature.
